Patients who use wheelchairs often need to transfer from the wheelchair to the bed, commode, bath, and car city for transfer in the opposite direction. This requires scientific training, and only when the disabled can master the transfer technology can it be achieved. Self-care and proper work.
There are vertical transfers and seated transfers. Vertical transfer is suitable for hemiplegia and any patient who can maintain a stable standing during normal transfer. There are three main types of seated transfer: side sliding transfer with a skateboard, side transfer without a skateboard and forward and backward sliding transfer. Sitting transfer is mainly used in patients with paraplegia and other lower limb movement disorders (such as bilateral amputees). Here we mainly introduce the vertical transfer.

1. Transfer from bed to wheelchair (taking hemiplegic patients as an example)
The height of the bed should be close to that of the wheelchair seat, and a short handrail should be installed at the head of the bed. The wheelchair has a brake and a detachable footrest. The wheelchair is placed on the healthy side of the patient. The wheelchair and the foot of the bed are at a certain angle (30.~45.).
①The patient sits next to the bed and first locks the brake of the wheelchair;
②The torso is tilted forward, and at the same time, use the healthy limbs, position the feet and hands to prop up, and move to the bed;
③ Bend the knee of the healthy limb to above 90°, and move the healthy foot to the back of the affected foot to facilitate the free rotation of the two feet;
④ Grab the armrest of the bed (if the balance is unstable, grab the middle of the farther wheelchair armrest), move the patient's torso forward, use his uninvolved arm to prop up, so that most of the weight is transferred to the uninvolved calf. Reach a standing position;
⑤The patient moves his hand to the middle of the armrest on the far side of the wheelchair, and moves his feet so that he is ready to sit down;
2. Transfer from wheelchair to hospital bed
①The wheelchair faces the bedside position;
② After applying the brake, lift the chest of the patient with the uninhibited hand, and then move the foot pad to the side;
③ Tilt the torso forward and move the supporting surface down to the front line of the wheelchair until the two feet hang down, and the foot is behind the affected foot; grasp the wheelchair armrest (or bed armrest), move the patient's body forward, and move up and down with the healthy side Support the weight to reach a standing position:
④ After standing, move your hands to the armrests of the bed, and move your two feet to make yourself ready to sit on the bed; sit on the edge of the bed and lie down.
